Jeez, this game is so good!
I really wished I would have found this game earlier.
I was so happy that Square E. finally released the FF Pixel Remaster on Switch, I payed and played them all ... and then I found 8 bit adventures 2 just two days ago and I'm SHOCKED by how good and competent this is! Seriously, wow! This easily beats most of the FF Pixel Remasters ... the graphics are so charming, the writing is so witty and the combat is fun and balanced.
I only hope that there'll be something from the dev(s) in the future (maybe even a classic SNES-like turn-based RPG?!)

So happy I found this :-) Can't stop playing on my Switch. Only wished I could review this game somehow here on Steam without paying for it again :-D haha

Wow!! Thank you SO much for the incredibly kind words Swimfan. I know there's not really a place on consoles to post something to the developers, so I really appreciate you taking the time to come onto the Steam forums and share that with me.

I'm about as big a Final Fantasy fan as you'll find, so that's incredibly high praise in my book! :D

I actually am currently working on a 16-bit project. It's a bit different, but I think you might enjoy it, so please keep an eye out in 2025 ;)

And thank you very much for the support! If you want to help us out, the best way is really just to spread the word. Word of mouth is how indies get most of their attention, so if you know someone who might like the game, please share it with them. But either way, I sincerely appreciate you buying the game and am so glad that you're having such a great time with it =)

Thanks again Swimfan!

Hey there :-) So cool you took the time to reply.

I've played some more yesterday and I'm almost shocked that I'm already 10 hrs in at this point. At first I thought the font/very oldschool take would annoy me after a while but I think what you really nailed is the combat and how it constantly surprises in ways that a NES probably couldn't have done (or maybe it could have ... I'm not an expert). There are some really clever ideas of yours on display (like the enemies in the cave that you want to fight in the light/how split parties and bosses feel actually balanced super-well around every forced composition, how you portraited the "villain" and how all the characters work - the mage being able to refill his mana I find especially cool).

Keep up the good work. I really hope that my health improves a little over the next few weeks on my new treatment so that I might actually see your new project in 2025 :-) It's def. on my list to keep an eye out for now!

Best wishes
a fan from Germany

Oh absolutely! I always take the time to reply; it's the least I can do when someone takes the time to share their thoughts :D

Thank you very much! The NES definitely had some pretty strict limitations that would've made it hard to do some of the things in 8-Bit Adventures 2, but some people managed to pull off amazing feats with it. I'm so glad that you feel the bosses are balanced so well, and I'm thrilled that you're enjoying the Glitch and using our party of characters!

The fact that you took the time to write to me with everything else you've got going on says a lot about the type of person you are. It sounds like you've got a much more important job than me over the next few weeks, so you please keep up the good work too =) I'll be praying that everything goes well for you, and I really hope you'll enjoy what we've got in store for you!

Oh, also, 8-Bit Adventures 2 will be getting a Free DLC update in January too, so please keep an eye out for that ;)

Thanks again Swimfan!
