So if there is light sometimes, are you sure there is issues there?
If it's a holdover from the PS1 version of the game, that kind of make sense, but the randomness of the light going out while the mask is the real problem. That's the problem with potentially intermittent issues, some people may never see them while others see them in some runs and not others.
That said, this is a really cool mechanic and it's unfortunate that it only existed in this one level.
In later games they split lighter to another thing. Lights fly. And it's fly away when times up. I guess there is levels where you must go in darkness... Not sure CB2 3 Or both. One level is regular stage, another level is addition stage... Death route maybe. Sidescrolling camera area.
In CB 1 when times out Mask still remain. Issue is it is first are a shield mask. It still working as that. Same for mask crates. So it's away when you get hit and remain when times out.
There is second dark level. And on that there is maybe few steps (and one jump!) you need to do in darkness. It is supposed to be harder variant. If your thread is about first dark level - light never disappear for me there. Im not so fast on a second level and can't say for sure how it should be there.
Or vise versa... Hm. They both are short. First one have Gem route and alternative finish portal.
