So compared to the originals
Well I'm done with all 3 games, I got all 85 Platinums and collected all the gems, but I think I would prefer the originals tbh. Don't get me wrong these remakes are great and they do some things better than the originals but they also do some things wrong and tend to be more buggy.

The main problem is the fact all 3 have time trials now, which is great in theory but in practice it doesn't work as well as it did with the original "Warped". This is due to the bugs I mentioned, most notably the one where platforms which move you to the next area tend to need time to trigger which never happened in the originals. Also the first 2 games were not designed to have time trials which makes them inconsistent. Some tend to be so easy I did them on first try, most notably the one in Crash 2 with the beehives I did it first try and beat the platinum time by 17 sec. While others can be very tight. Which pretty much shows they were done in a rush.
And it also doesn't help that they don't contribute anything. In "Warped" they have a purpose, as you need them to unlock additional levels. Yeah they give you a tiny bit more more completion % but what difference does it make?

Other problems are for example Aku Aku masks. I mean when you pick up a 4th one while you are already invincible it will not reset the time you stay invincible, there really is no excuse for that.
Another thing is the great wall of china levels where Coco rides Pura, in the original I could run over small gaps when charging, but in the remake I will fall no matter how small the gap is.
Also in the "Warped" remake I had a bug that made me fight Cortex again before I got all the gems, I was still 3 (4 including the hub bonus) away from getting them all but apparently the game decided it's enough and made me fight him anyway. And it wasn't any of the gems from the secret levels that I was missing.
And I also don't like how the "Warped" remake shows the true maximum number of gems and relics from the get go, as in the original the ones from the 2 secret levels were only added to the sum total after discovering them.

But there are good things too most notably in Crash 2, where the boss fights got their own entrances, thus allowing you to replay them. Also adding easy access to the secret warp room was a warm welcome.

As for Crash 1, I'm not sure as I only played the original version once, so correct me if I'm wrong. But if my memory serves me the original was a lot harder but in a bad way. What I mean is the Brio and Cortex bonus areas of a level had to be completed on first try or you had to redo the whole level if you failed to get all crates from them. So if that was indeed the case then this is also a huge improvement in the remake by giving you the option to try again.

However, there is one thing that the originals did better for all 3 games - the voice acting. I mean it's terrible in the remakes, everyone is just trying too hard. The villains sounded far more manacing in the original versions while here they just sound silly whenever they try to sound threatening.

So yeah overall I think the original versions were better.

No you are correct. (and same goes for normal bonus-levels to save your progress)

Everything you said is correct. That said for someone like me who never bothered with achievements and time trials most differences were unnoticeable. Still bloody great remakes to bloody great games

I love the originals and finished them numerous times and right now finishing them again but these remakes are far better than the originals! I liked every little change they did in this, time trials are a great addition, Dualshock support for the first two games and the fixed save system in the first game also bouncing on bounce crate in the first game reduced to 5 instead of 10 just like the third game is a great change!

Also in the first game, you didn't have to break all the boxes in none of the bonus levels, they weren't counted in the level's total boxes when you die, yes you can not reenter and had to restart the game but their purpose were different. Tawna bonus levels were for saving (you could only save the game from tawna bonus to taena bonus, after getting a gem or after defeating a boss.) Cortex bonus levels for keys to unlock secret levels, dr. Nitrus brio bonus levels were just extra lives.

And the worst of all, you had to complete all of the levels without dying or you could not get any gem from those levels remake also have this but only in colour gem levels!

Warped is pretty much completely the same with the original, first and second games just have the third games jump system.
