Game use for user files this path
C:\Users\*latin letters name*\AppData\Roaming\Crash Bandicoot(TM) N. Sane Trilogy\
There is 3 files for game settings and always multiple save files.
This game do not have such function in settings in game menu. And i think it not possible to edit from this 3 files. Some parts of them are not readable. Most part are readable in Notepad++ or probably better HEX editor (HxD). But i cant see values - only option strings. I cant see where it can be changed.
I personally cant find where it dark. It way more brightener than it be originally on PS1. And it literally allow you see everything even on dark levels. So since you say it it looks dim on your screen - this is something should be changed on screen. This is same as sound settings. To lower master sound level it should be do that in Windows sound mixer, not in the game.
Again. this game literally bright too much. You do not need *torch* on dark level, do not need at all. Well, except Dark levels in CB1 - since it way harder and most levels are supposed to be unseen even with light on - cause of wombat back and camera angle.

You're absolutely right about my screen's brightness being the culprit. I didn't realize I had it set so dim, as my other games seemed to look fine.
I originally had the brightness and contrast levels on my monitor set to match my scans (paintings and penciled pages, etc), as much as possible. This of course means dimming the screen enough to accommodate the match.
I also didn't realize that one of my monitor's features was being able to store multiple screen setting profiles, so I created one just for Crash and now it looks perfect!
Thanks again for taking the time, friend. :)
Make sure every three set to maximum performance (and dynamic bright is off) even if you on always-AC_plug-in Desktop.
