Only thing they screwed up here is the atmosphere (RIP Generator Room, its not scary at all now), the rest is fine.
Glad to see I am not alone in regards to Ratchet 2016. I hate it with passion
N. Sane trilogy screw the hitboxes, sure, but overall is a solid experience, just a bit more difficult than it used to be. On the other hand you don't need to get all the boxes without dying in CB1 to get a white gem and that's very welcome
i don't like the missing little details and atmosphere in the remixed soundtrack and sound effects like boulder rolling and crashing noises, etc sound 'weak' compared to original.
boulder dash track in n-sane trilogy is missing low bass sounds, feels less intense and 'creepy' than original.

road to nowhere in n-sane trilogy is missing that constant windy hissing sound that in my opinion gave the original a more intimidating atmosphere.

Original: 60fps, clean screen, awesome soundtrack, funny and a tiny bit edgy jokes, super expressive character animations etc.
Remake: 30fps, motion blur overload, movie score soundtrack, harmless and safe dialogue with stilted animations, #gadgetdrop, non stop barrage of unfunny dialogue which repeats over and over, etc.

I'll just leave it here.

The creators are lazy
Where the PS2 game had excellent animations that were way ahead of its time and still look great today, the PS4 game had animations that looked like they came from an N64 game. Even the PSP games had way better animations on a handheld. Not to mention the immersive spaceship loading screens were replaced by boring, generic loading screens that remove all sense of immersion. It may seem minor, but it's the small details that go a long way.
Also, how did you forget about the fact that they even removed several locations from the original game altogether? That's the one thing a remake should never do whatsoever. While the OG game hasn't aged gracefully especially compared to the sequels, it's still tons more fun and more challenging overall, not to mention has more content. I'd much rather have fun gameplay with flawed mechanics over pretty graphics and polished controls.
At least the N.Sane trilogy was passable as a remake and actually tried to fix issues of the original games, like a much more accessible save system for Crash 1 that works like the sequels, adding a box tally for Crash 1 and 2 like 3 had and even with the updated graphics, retains most of the look and feel of the original and even looks better in a handful of cases. Not to mention it never removed any content, it kept the story mostly the same and even added two new levels, one of which was a level cut from the original release, while the other was brand new to the collection.
And in the fourth part it's even worse at times.
