Patch has broken the ability to play beyond 60fps!
Don't be fooled by what frame rate capture software tells you, since that small unannounced patch some days ago, it is no longer possible to have the game run at over 60fps. An easy way to tell is to play at 60fps, then turn on whatever 'fix' you use to uncap the frame rate and it feels exactly the same but with a lot more screen tearing.

I noticed right away since I had been playing at 144fps since launch and the difference is jarring, it has made the game unplayable for me and I am glad I pretty much completed 100% before this horrible patch. I cannot understand what the devs were thinking if they did this on purpose but they should reverse it or implement an official way to play beyond 60ps if they want to garner good will.

Otherwise I suppose I should change my review from positive to negative since I had highlighted uncapped frame rate as a big positive for me and removing it in a stealth patch for no good reason is completely unacceptable.

EDIT: Found a fix! Go to the EXE and enter properties then compatibility tab. Check the box for disable full screen optimizations and exit. Done!

I noticed this too. Before patch I could run at 144hz reliably.
Now it works...sometimes...with a lot of fiddling around.

I have noticed it too and can't enjoy this game at 60fps. 144fps looked amazing. I hope someone finds a workaround at FULLSCREEN. I get random frame drops when using the borderless window trick.

same here cant beleive they havnt even givven uss the option to roll back the game version atleast... ever scince the update i havnt played it because it just looks blurry wen i move ingame at 60 hz need to b able to use 144Hz or higher why on earth this game makes it start in its own display frequencey instead of using your monitors deafult is beyond me.unless this is a result of a lazey port. the fact that its been almaost 2 months scince launch and not even a word from the devs that there working on the issues is like a slap in the face to every one who has purchased the game and supported their team. so sick of buying games on launch to have them not work properly and then get fcked up by an update at some point anny way. thank u modern conviniences (internet) sweet now we can release it on time all fcked up and not working propperly well just fix it later (pretty much every dev team now) why are we not entitled to a refund wen they fcked the game up at random for alot of people and then just leave them sitting there for weeks on end without a even a word to the people who baught their product.its not hard for one person to relay a few words just letting us know that there aware of the issues and that their working on it.. is that to much to ask do u guys recon?
I can still play at 144 fps.

I don't know what your setups are, but if you have an Nvidia card, try this: right click on desktop -> select Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Select Crash Bandicoot -> Disable V-Sync

I had to do that right from the beginning in order to unlock my framerate. Some people reportedly didn't have to do that, so if you're one of them, try that.

yea same it used to work b4 that tiny patch they launched that they said nothing about. what refresh rate are u playing at ? the game keeps changing it from what i have it set to (200Hz) and changes it by itself to 60 Hz creating blurring trails and screen tares wen in motion.

This will not solve the problem, for example i have to keep Vsync On in NCP because i have a Gsync monitor, but even if i had a non-Gsync monitor the game will hook to 60HZ instead of your monitor refresh rate, so if you play beyond 60 FPS the gameplay will not be so smooth than playing with 144 HZ. The main problem is the refresh rate, keep in mind that!

thats verry strange because i thought gsync was an alternative to vsync for better performance and less input lag.i also have a gsync monitor.

Yeah it is, but to use correctly Gsync you have to activate Vsync in NCP and to disable any Vsync option inside the game ;)

so vsync just used to cap the frame rate...? is there a reason they dont just use a simple frame cap? coz vsync creates a little input lag and seems to make games have less clarity.aaahhh i dont understand haha why dey doo dis? haha..

No i'm talking about how the gsync thing works.. about the game ithink they have to do 2 things:

1) give us the option to select our refresh rate
2) give us an uncap framerate option

Do the devs even check on here? Hopefully enough people complain on Twitter or something for them to do something about this. It can't be that hard.

Mine is at 144hz, and the fps can be well over 700 in loading screens, though I have it capped at 255. I don't know why it doesn't work for you, but for me it does. I don't have a g-sync monitor.
