Of all the dpads I know, the DS4 controller probably sucks the least, though. But still, it sucks.
Sidenote: For the love of macaroni, I've been looking for a controller with a dpad quality akin to the GBA SP/OG NDS for AGES. The only decent dpads I've ever seen. Any recommendations appreciated, thanks :(
I have two ps1 controllers with an adapter, need to test them for CB, but i played a lot of games with them on pc. Still my favorite controllers are the ps1 controllers.
The GBA SP/OG NDS dpads are amazing. Not too big, not too small, requiring just the perfect amount of force. Changing directions is fast and it's virtually impossible to hit a wrong direction by accident. Great tactile and audible feedback.
Do note that the regular GBA, NDS Light, and other Gameboy dpads were awful in comparison, again with the mushiness and lack of tactile feedback.
Actually, the PSP also had a pretty decent dpad. Not quite as good as the NDS and GBA SP, but I think all it was lacking was the tactile feel. Other than that, really good.
FAAAAAAR THE BEST DESIGNED CONTROLLER
By far the worst D-PAD of any controller I've ever used, while I like the layout and the analog sticks the D-PAD makes it worse than many other controller options by a country mile the moment you need to use it for anything.
Riiiight.
Take notes people, this is why this guy has to cheat through time trials. Don't use an Xbox controller.
