Time Trial Cheaters.

So this has an easy fix. Time trials where the speed is obviously fake will be removed and said user banned from the leaderboards.

Why isnt this being done? I had 4th place in the world on cortex power for pc. Now all the times are overridden with stuff like 0.008 to a few seconds.

That would not fix cheaters who beat the best time by 1 second, and without a video its impossible to prove they don't cheat.

That is a good point but a lot of the people who get the obvious fake times would be banned from the leaderboards before they got the chance to try something like that.

they use a trainer to teleport.
or to get the noclip power.
the devs can track those who use the trainer but i doubt they will , or can at this point.

The only way to stop cheating as this would be to have the game always online and have a active anti cheating process running at all times.. like what Blizzard does with their games.. thing is, that does take a LOT of resources and in the end, preventing cheating in World of Warcraft is worth it.. preventing a fake time on the leaderboard of crash bandicoot is not... yes you can ban the obvious users but as mentioned before, you can bet your ass some cheaters will submit "believable but really great" scores so in the end the leaderboards are pointless.

Only thing I can think of is they use some kind of problem that figures out the litteral fastest time you can time trial a level, and remove any time that is faster than that.

They could implement some "ghost" (like CTR) for time under platinum relic, so they can check if the time is hacked or not. (And make even public for spectate)

I think they use glitches to make the best time trial

Maybe just make it so that by default the leaderboard is friends only. That way at the very least we won't have to see the hacked trial times.

This game would be so replayable if they did something about the PC times, PS4 times are legit but not everyone like me owns this game on consoles.

Time trials aren't single-player, unfortunately. Effectively, they made them multiplayer only.

I knew this when I posted, I am also a modder. CodeNameGamma made a cheat table which allows flight and no clip etc.

To get the time trial records and to get all the relics in the game I assume. It sucks the fun out of it
