Eh, you can do them with running shoes, I found out you get them after beating Cortex. The ones in CB1 are absolutely insane, specially the Native Fortress one, High Road, The Lab and Stormy Ascent.

Yes, you can. However if you want to get achievement, you need them at least in gold and that's where the issue lies. Even with them it's f*cking hard! The difficulty change from CB3 to CB2 is ridiculous!

I have no idea what to tell you there, I tried doing one without the shoes (because I haven't finished CB2 yet, I spend two days completing CB1 in every single way, even going as far as to get every platinum), and I could barely get a gold using the slide+spin glitch combo. I'm going to take your word that they are unforgivably hard, but I like Crash 2's level design much more than 1 and 3, so I'll probably enjoy them too.

I had no problems getting the achievement for Crash 1 (23 plat and 4 golds). Now I'm on Crash 2 and have 7 relics so far, all of them are plats. Just keep running forward and get all the boxes, then you will get gold for sure. You can even miss a few boxes and still get gold.

For Crash 2, you can slide+jump+spin to get extra far, this way you can skip platforms in levels like air crash.
