Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy

How's the actual MUSIC?
I don't hear anyone talking about it... I personally ONLY interested in this collection if all of the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK is preserved, it's a huge point of nostalgia for me with these games.

So, did they keep the original tracks? Did they remake them (well?) in any way? Did they create entirely new crappy music?

Few users do talk about this, because it is dividing opinions. Some say it is lame, while other say it is spot on.
As far as I can tell, from what I could listen, nothing was scraped and swapped. They just gave some instruments more "oomph", but the original melodies are all preserved. I'd call it a careful and thorough reworking.

It's the close-but-somewhat-superior remakes of the original tracks.

I would say the music is good. Sure, some of the tracks were remastered to be worse (the Sewer theme) but other are just as good or better (Toxic Waste) so it's personal preference.
Thanks, guys! Good to know. "Wait for a DEEEEEP sale" it is.
The music has been completely remade using ripped audio from the PS1 versions as a base, from there on some tweaks were made to make some stages sound more "happy" and "lively", mainly in Crash Bandicoot 1. The original composer, Josh Mancell, DID offer to come back and redone the tracks for this 9he still has the original masters) but apparently Activision didn't want any outside help.

A real shame. We're lucky this game turned out so well.
wish there was an option to have the original sountrack playing instead of the ones provided
I prefer the originals significantly. The new stuff isn't too bad, but if you still remember how the original tracks sound the game sounds a little bit wrong. Wish it got the Halo collection treatment for 1/2 with the original soundtrack available to use alongside the new.

So interesting to know, guys. Great insight!
I find the original PS1 soundtrack way better. The new one isnt bad though, but sometimes feels like it is not good enough.
