PS3 controller
So my xbox controller works fine no issue but i would like to use my PS3 controller however its giving me a lot of issues. I can't even finish the configuration properly on steam controller settings becuase pressing the guide button closes it for some reason. I do use BetterDS3 for when i emulate but yeah giving me issues with steam

Give this a download. It's an Xinput wrapper that makes Windows think your PS3 controller is an Xbox controller. Therefore allowing you to play any game that supports an Xbox controller with your PS3 controller instead.

Kinda the reason i went betterDS3 is because i didnt want a wrapper to make it look like an xbox controller, i only really ever used it for emulation and i have a 360 controller for other games.

I just found out why my ps3 guide button was closing windows, if generic widnows controller is ticked in steam config it works like the mouse and keyboard, it was even changing control panel tabs when i was using the analogue stick... And unless i enable it the controller wont work. Might just be better sticking off with the 360 controller however much i don't want to use it from crash...

EDIT: Using BetterDS3 after seeing there was Xinput for it, i used it with the autofil option after creating a new profile as i wanted to keep my old one for emulation and it works beautifully, of course the prompts are still the xbox ones but i guess thats partial controller support for you.

If it ever gets full controller support say for dual shock 4 will it also recognise dual shock 3 buttons?

And with the SCPtoolkit whats different to this one than other otherversions? I keep seeing SCP server for instance.

I heard the PS4 controller works out of the box for this game, button prompts and all from what I've heard.

I dunno the differences tbh.

You can get your official DS3 drivers from PS Now. Install drivers manually from that, and then set it up like a regular controller on Steam.
Google around for more info, make sure to add 'PS Now' when searching.
The only thing that I couldn't get to work is vibration. Otherwise it works fine on all games.

So i just download PSnow after uninstalling all other drivers and it should work fine? I can uninstall PSnow after that?

I did it a year ago don't remember the details, look it up. But as far as I remember yeah. Just install PS Now, point windows to the drivers for the gamepad, install them manually. And then you can remove PS Now and use the gamepad on Steam without any other external programs.
