YES! Got it! Glorious 144hz.

So, there is something ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in the game engine, but I've got a workaround.
- Start the game and set it to "Borderless window" and VSYNC ON
- Close the settings menu
- Change your refresh rate from Nvidia panel to 60hz.
- The game will now run with 20 or 48 fos. Go to the settings and it will jump to 60 fps.
- Close settings and change your refresh rate to 144hz
- Now the game runs with 144hz

BUT DON'T OPEN THE SETTINGS AGAIN, OR YOUR FPS WILL FALL TO 48 AGAIN!

Just put it in fullscreen mode and turn vsync off.

Ignore the fps cap setting, use the steam overlay to see your fps.

If you monitor is set to 144hz you will have 144 fps.

That doesn't always work. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1426440644

V-Sync off, full screen, 48 fps in menu, but Steam/Nvidia overlay also had 48 fps showing. Forcing VSync off from Nvidia control panel did the trick for me.

I ran into the same issue, actually forcing vsync off in game & gpu control panel worked but then stopped for some reason. Had to use Special K to re-unlock it.
(side note: also for some reason not all the controller options were there in the special k config file and had to add and enable them to get it + steam overlay to work together.. so look that up if ya run into the same issue)
