then you guys translated bits and pieces for the person who portrayed Yasna to sing in english? the particular line: "down you go oh bright sun, time to let the night in"

Was one of the melodies used in The Witcher 3 also used in this game? I’d swear I heard the same tune in both games.

It's not an exact 1:1 translation of the lyrics but basically yes.

I'm not sure about that but The Witcher soundtrack is obviously heavily inspired in slavic folk music so it's not surprising that it might sound familiar :)
