Smaller resolution, is there any advantage?
Hey all,
Recently I've decided to mess around for a bit and downloaded couple of csgo configs from professional players such as get_right or f0rest. The strange thing I've noticed is that they all choose small resolutions such as 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 max. From what I've researched on teh internetz, there's apparently smaller margin of making a mistake on lower resolution because there are less pixels to aim at.

However, all those resolutions are 4:3 meaning that your field of view is smaller than on regular 16:9 which Imo puts you at a disadvantage.

What are your thoughts on that?

Pretty much why they use it. It also affected recoil and was not as hard to control. However, since source, they can no longer do this and resolution has no change on how the game plays. I always play at native resolution as I can't stand the poor image from non native resolutions.

i use 720x480 used 648x480 in cs 1.6 it is better. lower resoultion is always better, dosent matter about gfx updates just always used lowest resoultion. there is 720x640 in 16:10 resoultions is what i use, i used 1440 res before and it was horrible compared to the 640x480 alike 16:10 res.
