Demo / Trial
I'm thinking of getting this game but I want to try it out first.
Anyone know if there's a demo or trial anywhere??

Hmm. Did you happen to see the long 6 month or longer beta?
Also, why would CS:GO get a demo if the other games didn't have one?

Plus, it serves no use when the game costs as much as a DLC to cod.

there is no demo and there will not be. Its so cheap either gamble 15 bucks or dont. If you know you like fps games and are looking for something different or already like cs then go for it.

If you enjoy CS you should get this. I really enjoy it, mainly because it has a better competitive feel than the other CS had.

@Mikjaash: No, I hadn't heard about a new CS game. I just found out from a friend that plays it.
@Your Dollas/BlitzAK: I used to play CS:S so I'm sure I'll like it. I mostly wanted a demo so I could try it out with friends that don't usually play FPS games.

Thanks for the responses though.

they got rid of beta at the release of the game - there is no demos, etc. but if you're a 1.6 player i can almost with certainty after getting used to the gui and some of the mechnics of the game that you will love CSGO

If they are willing to try out a FPS then tell them this game is worth 15$. Just don't start them off in competitive levels and let them know that death is fast and common. Sadly there is no demo though.

You can also show them trailers or youtube videos or even let them play on your CPU (dont share your steam password) so they get a feel before purchase. I pay for many types of games I'm not sure I'll like, and have no demo, because of what I saw on youtube and seeing other friends play them. And 15$ really is not a bad price for trying out a quality game in a new genre. There are also free options for other FPS games but they can sway newcomers away from the genre. So the 15$ is worth it for those that want to try out a popular/quality FPS.

Just my 2cents . . .

and Happy Fragg'n

@Sause: I haven't played CS in a looongg time because I started to get bored. Hopefully it's been long enough to feel fresh again.

@Sweeny: Yea, I just bought it. I'll let em try it out eventually when they come over. A 1hr demo would have made this whole process easier though...

@Eric: LOL. All completely logical reasons I'm sure ;)

just spend the 15 bucks. its worth at least that if you play for even just a few hours of entertainment.

This offers nothing new, really.

I honestly think every game should have a demo, but I don't always get what I want. Sadly, there is no demo for this game and I even think it's unpiratable (not that you should pirate a game at all). My best answer to you is to ask for others opinons on it and watch gameplay videos of it.

I'll tell you one thing, the hit detection sucks. Everything else gets an A, though.
