Logitech G13 Users?
I recently started playing CSGO and the keyboard I use is the G13 with the joystick. I usually play battlefield with movement assigned to the joystick so I'm comfortable with moving like that. But in CSGO movement seems really important and I'm not sure that having movement assigned to the joystick would be optimal. Any advice? And for the record I'm not using joystick for aiming, I'm just using it for movement. I already know aiming with a joystick < aiming with a mouse.

I guess you should just try both movement schemes and choose what seems best for you. I personally wouldn't use a joystick instead of WASD, but then again I'm jsut used to that. Try both and see what you like more :)
Generally speaking though, you can react quicker with keyboard, and peeking corners will be safer and quicker with WASD than with a joystick I think.

Yeah I'm comfortable with both, but when I watch guides on people talking about the back and forth taps to close your crosshair down when shooting and I'm not sure a joystick would perform better than WASD

I'm gonna revive my old thread because I still haven't decided lol. And for the record I don't use it as an analog joystick, I assign WASD to the joystick so its basically moving wasd to my thumb, and the direction of the joystick dictates which key(s) get pressed.

Hoping the individual who created this thread is still watching it but, I use my G13 as a WASD and I use the thumbstick to alternate between my grenades (the two emulated mouse buttons are my primary and secondary weapons). This works pretty well since it keeps me away from Q and the mouse wheel.
Though on the other side, I played a pretty intense competitive game with someone using an XBox controller and they were actually very good, very smooth movements.
I do also agree you can change directions more rapidly with WASD since you are alternating fingers rather than sweeping your thumb.
Not sure that helps at all

Yeah I'm still here, thanks for responding. It's cool to see other G13 users, it doesn't seem very popular for some reason unless people who use it just don't talk about it. I'm currently using WASD for movement and have 1 through 4 on the joystick for weapon switches then have flashband and smoke on my two side mouse buttons. I have the two clicks next to my joystick set to ESC and ENTER because I've just always had it that way but having more weapon switches there is interesting.

One thing I have been working on is custom buying scripts
I am trying to figure out if it is more consistent to let the G13 drive or to use the config.cfg file to build buy scripts, so instead of clicking arrows or some such, hitting G15 or G9 or somesuch will buy: M4A4/AK, Hevlar/helm, defuse, Fiveseven, and grenades
I have not gotten it to work consistently though which is a bummer.
Though at the moment I do use my M profiles for the two contexts, M1 when buying and M2 while playing
