Mouse Settings (Raw Input and Acceleration)
Hey guys being fairly new to Counter Strike i was wondering what are your preffered mouse settings and if i should leave raw input and acceleration on or off. I have been hearing all sorts of reasons but i want a definite solid answer lol i have a logitech M705 mouse with game settings. Thanks

From what i've been told by others, raw input should be on, Mouse accel Off.

i see idk if its just me but i feel like i cant find a right sensitivity that fits me either its to slow or to fast then again i started a few days ago maybe ill get used to it
Raw input: on
Acceleration: off
DPI: 1600
In game sens: 4.44

(If I move my mouse across my Qck, I rotate 170ish degrees)

I run with both off because I use a razer deathadder. it really comes down to your own preference. However, I'd agree mouse accel should be off at a minimum as this in most cases makes it harder for pin-point precision when you need it, especially with gaming mice. it's like using ice for a mouse pad.

if you'd like some community feedback on it - read what others have to say about their experience http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1f8km4/

I'm not a reddit fan, but I agree with what they say about having it off

raw input should be on mouse acceleration off and your sensitivity should be as low as you fee comfortable i have mine at 1.7 with 800dpi and i'm working on lowwering it to 1.

It was harder and harder every time to get used to it. Ultimately you should just pick something and stick with it so you can get used to it. You can't develop muscle memory if accel is on or if you change sensitivity all the time.

Either your character can barely spin around, or raw input is broken for me:

Raw input: on
Acceleration: off
DPI: 1600
In game sens: 4.44

(If I move my mouse across my Qck, I rotate 170ish degrees)

Yeah i can barely spin and i dont have that big of a pad or room to be moving mouse around alot . Also my mouse has no way to change its DPI but it says it goes up to 3500 and has gaming options through SetPoint for logitech mouses. Appreciate the quick feedback.

You can actually play with mouse acceleration, especially if you have a small mousepad. I know global elite players that use mouse acceleration and it has been stated that you can actually get used to it, it can just take more time. Most players go for that 1:1 feel and like that, it can be easier to get used to as well. that's fine and dandy when you have a big mousepad but small ones you'll need a higher DPI and sensitivity. What mouse do you have and what resolution do you play at OP?

i have a logitech m705 goes up to 3500dpi cant change it though but can be used with SetPoint.

Asus G75 Resolution 1920x1080
Mouse Sensitivity 3.00
Raw input Off
Acceleration Off
Pointer Speed default 6 in Windows control panel

Currently its alright i guess lol im getting used to it but i might put acceleration and see how it feels because i do have a small mouse pad so its difficult moving the mouse can barely turn around if have to. Question should i mess with the pointer speed and bring it downt to 5 or something
Grind my 'stache Sep 16, 2013 @ 11:53pm
the default 6 means you're at 1.0 mouse speed which is usually what most people would want, your maximum useful DPI is actually only 1000 at that resolution so that's the max you should have it, anything lower is fair game too, it's just pointless to go higher. Acceleration is completely preference and might be a necessity with a smaller mouse pad. That said a QCK+ is only $10-20 which if you have the desk space for it and money it might be worth it, just get a plain one.. I've heard the ones with designs can make your mouse a bit slidey which isn't always a good thing. If you don't feel like upgrading then mouse acceleration could be a must but it definitely will be harder to learn since mouse acceleration is based off of how fast you move the mouse. I can't really say what values it should be at since I don't personally use it.

as stated above, make ur sensititivty and dpi lower, espcially sens should be as low as possible, its just way more accurate that way.
