Max Bot Increase

When playing offline with bots, is there a way to increase the number of bots via console? I try to increase the bot quota to 64 on dust2 but it won't let me.

yes you can, set sv_cheats to 1
use these:
bot_add
bot_add_ct
bot_add_t

you can add up to 20 in casual, I think you can probably add even more by manipulating the cfg files

Thanks, now I just need to learn how to use it to increase the max bots.

autoexec.cfg is a client side cfg, it won't work for this because you need to work with server side cfg files. When you reach the limit adding bots, you will see a message in the console telling you what file you need to modify.

i never tried but in css you use teambalance 0 to increase enemy bots.cs:go bots are stupid though.. average at best even at the highest level..

actually, use the command maxplayers in the console and it will tell you something about a txt file

So I put in the maxplayers command and it told me to use the gamemodes example text file. I was able to change it so the maxplayers would be 64. unfortunatly, this will not effect offline bot matches it will only change it if I put it in a server. Any ideas on how to make it effect bots?

must be a way but I don't know how to do it in csgo, I wish they allowed us to customize our offline games just like in previous versions of the game

Me too, unfortunatly, I only have CSGO.

it used to be like that, at least in cs 1.6 and condition zero, you had several options like bots amount, flashlight, tk, money amount, freeze time, etc, etc.
However it is good to learn some basice console commans, it will save you time and help you understand the system in a way.

it used to be like that, at least in cs 1.6 and condition zero, you had several options like bots amount, flashlight, tk, money amount, freeze time, etc, etc.
However it is good to learn some basice console commans, it will save you time and help you understand the system in a way.

Its also really fun to screw around with in certain valve games.

naah, the console belongs to counterstrike. i created this in a file called cheats.cfg in my config-folder:

with typing "exec cheats.cfg" into my console in a offline game i kick all bots, and im able to run all over the map with noclip (on/off on mouse4) and dropping grenades with my numpad or getting/stockingammo an ak47 with using "P"-Button. this way i find out how to throw good grenades, looking out for fixpoints to land a good smoke or wallbang someones head or beaming some exploding barrels in. (oildrum)

u can do the same with all commands u need into a file like "botgaming.cfg" and after typing "exec botgaming.cfg" into ur console all is loaded instantly. u could even use bind "exec botgaming.cfg" "BUTTONUWANT" into ur config.cfg/autoexec.cfg and can exec all setting from "botgaming.cfg" with the buttonuwant.

i really suggest getting familiar with the console and its usage - its gorgeous and i wont miss it. (use it since cs 1.0)
