FPS Drops while Shooting / Flashed / Smoked
I played CS:GO since first month of release with 150 + FPS on my PC and 90-100 on my Notebook. Since March/April i get on my PC hard FPS drops while shooting or get shooted.
FPS drop to 12-30 FPS and get up 1-2 seconds after last shot to FPS_max (150 atm)

Laptop is still fine with same Config and internet connection.

My list of try´s (all failed):
- reinstall CS:GO
- delete config.cfg
- change NVIDIA Settings to max. performance
- update all Driver
- update DirectX
- reinstall Steam

I changed my graphic card also(not for fixing issue because of generally graphic boost :D) but it changed nothing

FPS problems also offline vs. bots

I wonder about this too. My drops arent as bad while flashed but they do drop for sure.

My system:
EVGA Z68 FTW
8gb Gskill ram 1600 9-9-9-24
EVGA 660ti FTW 3GB

I play at 1080p 60Hz with a secondary screen at 1600x900 for whatever else.

In your launch options, put in -high. This will move CS:GO to a higher priority.
In your autoexec.cfg (instructions to create an autoexec.cfg here [redd.it], put in cl_forcepreload 1 and r_dynamic 0 .

cl_forcepreload 1 will load the entire map before joining a game, providing a huge FPS boost. r_dynamic 0 will turn off dynamic lighting, which may help with your FPS.

If you want to easily check your rates, put this in your autoexec:

bind "TAB" "+ng";

alias "+ng" "+showscores; net_graph 1";

alias "-ng" "-showscores; net_graph 0";

When pressing tab, your scoreboard and net_graph will simultaneously appear.

That's all I got for now, hope this helps!

energy saving = high performance
CS:S and Portal 2 run fine ;(

v-sync on or off? adaptive?
Matze Apr 13, 2013 @ 4:36am
v-sync off, in cfg AND nvidia settings

monitored gpu and cpu with an external tool?
Matze Apr 13, 2013 @ 4:44am
Yeah CPU is at 60 - 70 °C (at 4 Cores 5, 6 will not be used by CS:GO) and GPU 50-70 °C ingame

Have you reinstalled/formatted the whole OS/HD? Sometimes even clean driver de/reinstalling can cause problems?
Whats your Max-FPS set to, and which refreshrate you have?
Matze Apr 13, 2013 @ 4:55am
Reinstalling my O/S is no option, but im sure i have a clean driver management ;)

max fps is set to 150
refresh also 150 with -refresh 150

Its still Windows. You cant be 100% sure about conflicts. Even if its unlikely, it could still be the OS causing it. If everthing else fails, id go for a clean OS. But maybe the problem is somewhere else. im still thinking.
