Weird performance issues (5070, 9800X3D, WIN11)
I've been experiencing strange performance issues while playing CS2, which started about a week or two ago. Occasionally, I notice microstuttering in the game, and the FPS is less than half of normal (normally 500-800 FPS, but 150-250 FPS when the issue occurs). The FPS decreases the longer I play. Restarting the game fixes the problem.

Good one.
You have discovered one of the memory leaks, congrats.
It can be caused by plenty of things in cs2.
Here are some of the potential fixes:
  • Remove your userdata folder
  • Update your gpu driver
  • Delete the shader cache
  • Disable reflex ( -noreflex in launch options )
  • Verify integrity of game files
  • When the problem occurs, press escape to open the pause menu, go to matches, then back to the dashboard
  • Unsubscribe from workshop content
  • And there are many more...

FPS dropping the longer you play sounds like a thermal issue

You mean the CPUs which crash and burn themselves?

Dont listen crap above, its not hardware, system or anything else. Problem in update with latest new maps. Its not fixable, just wait for update

limit your fps ingame to your max hz on your monitor. u dont need your 500-800 fps.
ive had a similar issue with the 12900k where i had the fps to unlimited. FPS goes worse over time because the cpu was heating up more and more. i got less fps until cpu didnt want cs anymore and crashes the game. after limiting fps of my game to 240fps everything was fine (except train - pain in the ass - it goes to 120 fps but no overheating)
Io need a better PC

That's just a badly cooled cpu... nothing to do with a game issue.
Half the posts just bait saying get a new pc or do this or do that, but no one points out the actual issue within the game that its poorly optimised,
My pc can run RDR2 with stable 130 fps on low settings but CS2 on low settings gives me worse performance
I used to get 200 fps at the start when cs2 was released now after every update it keeps dropping, now i get 100 fps max and 40fps in chaotic conditions like multiple smoked in one spot, especially in maps like agency, inferno, ancient
This game's development is a joke for the amount of money they make out of it

well any other game worked fine except cs with unlimited fps.

however valve has massive issues on cs with less developer because of deadlock. i think after deadlock is done and released, cs will get more time for development.

my guess - it will take half a year until valve will take all available recources to cs2
