Hours Played: Enough to miss CS:GO like an ex I swore I was over.

Ah yes, Counter-Strike 2 — the long-awaited sequel to CS:GO, or as I like to call it, “Counter-Strike: Now With 50% More Bugs and 100% Less Soul.”

The first time I booted up CS2, I thought I’d opened a beta test by mistake. Nope. That’s just how it is now. Smooth, shiny graphics that make my 3090 cry and gameplay that makes Valorant look like a tactical shooter.

Remember CS:GO? That crisp AK spray, that satisfying one-tap? Yeah, now every shot feels like I’m using a Super Soaker at 144Hz. Bullets curve like they’re trying to dodge the enemy. Smokes have become sentient — I threw one and it vaped me instead.

Movement? Feels like my character skipped leg day forever. Bunny hopping is dead. Peeking is a gamble. Jump scouting? Call it jump praying now.

And the maps? Oh boy. Valve polished them like a used car salesman. Dust2 looks like it got a bath, but also a lobotomy. Mirage got Botox. Everything’s cleaner, but it feels sterile — like a museum exhibit titled “FPS: 2012-2023 (RIP).”

Matchmaking? Still a casino. Cheaters are back like they never left. VAC? More like VACation.

I used to clutch in CS:GO with 5 HP and a dream. In CS2, I can’t clutch a door handle.

If I wanted to relive my CS:GO glory days, I’d open a YouTube fragmovie and cry. At least that has audio that works — unlike CS2, where footsteps are more confusing than IKEA instructions.

In short: CS2 is like your favorite pizza place getting bought out by a salad company. Technically healthier, objectively shinier, but deep down... you just want that greasy old slice of CS:GO chaos.

Bring back CS:GO. Or at least let CS2 grow a personality before I uninstall again “for the last time.”
