CS2 inventory + storage lags

hey, my inventory is very laggy, opening a storage unit is laggy, and putting or taking items from it is almost impossible, anyone got a fix for that?

Here are a few quick fixes — try them one by one:

1.Clear the inventory cache:

- exit Steam;

- delete the folder: ...\Steam\userdata\<your_steamID>\730\local (this holds local item caches);

- restart the game — the inventory will reload from the server.

2. Launch CS2 with the -clear_itemdefcache parameter:

- in Steam, right‑click CS2 → Properties → General → Launch Options;

- enter -clear_itemdefcache;

- start the game.

3. Check and fix game files:

- in Steam, go to CS2 Properties → Local Files → Verify integrity of game files.

4. Remove custom content:

- if you’ve installed custom icons, skins, or UI mods, delete them — CS2 is sensitive to modified Panorama files.

5. Change the inventory filter:

- switch the filter from “Equipped” to “New” or another option — this helped some players.

6. Update GPU drivers:

- install the latest drivers for your graphics card (NVIDIA/AMD/Intel).

7. Temporarily use the browser inventory:

- manage items via the Steam web inventory until the issue is fixed.

8. Switch the main menu background:

- go to Settings → Game → Menu Background;

- pick a different map (e.g., Mirage or Dust II) instead of the default storage view.

9. Disable overlays:

- turn off Steam, Discord, GeForce Experience, and other in‑game overlays.

If none of these help, the issue might be on Valve’s side — check official CS2 channels for known bugs and upcoming patches.

Same, almost impossible to load up a storage unit, went so far as to completely uninstall the game and still no luck.

Otra Vez!!! se ha vuelto imposible jugar!!! "OTRA VEZ!!!!" en el %99 de las partidas hay un cheater pero otra vez valve!!! yo no se si tiene caca en la cabeza o no tienen la capacidad de resolver, o no los importa o no supervisan su propio juego o esto es al proposito.... no entiendo no se entiende por que no hacen nada al respecto inmediatamente.... no se no conocen las formas de resolver las cosas nadie en valve tiene 2 dedos de frente para darse cuenta que si siguen usando los mismos metodos van a tener los mismo resultados? no conocen a Einstein? que decia "Si buscas resultados distintos no hagas siempre lo mismo" pongan un metodo nuevo!! hagan que participemos los que entendemos del tema y queremos que esto funcione "no a todos en un overwatch" cambien los metodos esto otra vez arruina la comunidad y al juego... que tengo que hacer? deja de jugar 2 o 3 años nueva mente? migrar a otra comunidad? dejar que los usuarios legales tambien usean cheat para contrarestar lo que ustedes no resuelven? y asi infectar al %100 el asunto??? que MIER-DA tienen en la cabeza???

I figured out what was causing it for me. I had transferred equipped items into a storage unit, and for some reason when I moved one it didn't lag like the other items, so I removed all of them and the issue completely resolved itself without even having to reboot the game.

any fix yet? One of my mates doesn't have that problem so it's not everyone apparently
