Rapid Fire cheat detection idea
Since Valve likes leaving "honey pots" to later ban cheaters, how about banning for rapid fire?

In case somebody doesn't know, rapid fire is a cheat function that allows the cheater to empty, for example, their SSG08 magazine in a fraction of a second, by shooting very fast, and even reloading at the same time somehow…? And shooting while reloading even!

The idea is simple — Rapid Fire shoots every tick — 64 times a second. How do I know that for sure? I managed to become "allies" with an enemy cheater, we decided on a tie and I also gave him a PP-Bizon which has exactly 64 rounds and he shot them all in exactly 1 second (60 frames of my recording).

There is no weapon in the game that fires that fast. except for Half-Life 2's airboat gun :D Why not just count how fast shots are fired on the server and if a player's firerate is being 64 rounds per second too often, detect them? (and do whatever ritual needs to be done to ban a 100% cheater, like a month of lowest trust factor and only then VAC or game ban is applied)

"Why not just count how fast shots are fired on the server and if a player's firerate is being 64 rounds per second too often, detect them?"

this might sound simple, logical and good when you say it like this but you forget that valve's managers are literal monkeys in suits.
affirmative action brought the most incompetent people into the higher positions at valve and now we enjoy the fallout.

saying things like that will only get you banned from the forums, personally I think something different is going on. they already have a ready solution for no spread hack (without causing visual desyncs) but they just don't have it enabled on official servers…
I have seen insane reload times and gun to pistol changeovers as well.
I have seen running and gunning with incredible accuracy.
I have seen one shot glock kills.
I have seen shotguns with great accuracy from a distance.

I have seen in DM when a player spawns, they are already facing your direction and firing (if they happen to spawn right in front of you. I mean, they don't spawn, look around first and then make their move, this happens withing the first nanosconds of spawning.

Since when is shooting while on a ladder accurate? Did that change or not?

AI still learning, its detected long time ago probably, they just wait and collect info.

That's a part of rapid fire I think

No spread hack. Such a hack was not possible in CS:GO on official servers because they had
sv_usercmd_custom_random_seed 1
CS2's official servers now have
sv_usercmd_custom_random_seed 0
Which means that the client can predict spread and the server would agree.

Rapid fire, actually more than one shot but they are all just one tick apart (1 tick = 0.015625 seconds)

No spread hack again but I'm not 100% sure about this once since shotguns generally have a fixed pellet spread pattern on top of normal spread

Looks like triggerbot or autofire, on deathmatch cheaters don't really care about how blatant they are, could as well even be bots (cheat walks around for them and shoots everybody)

No that didn't change, just started the game and tested, spread on a ladder is still worse than running and jumping at the same time.

valve is to ashamed to admit their vac does not work.

but how do you do it in the code? you don't want to ban anyone for killing 5 1 hp players with 1 scout shot

there is a diffrence between players being in line or in diffrent positions , other than that no one can shoot 5 times with scout in less than one second

ive been accused of having a rapid fire cheat with the tec-9 lol
being able to shoot fast with ssg isnt that hard

isn't that hard to shoot an ssg08 64 times a second?
anyway it doesn't matter anymore because Valve has already implemented this

I said months ago them leaving the rapid fire exploit in the game and not fixing it was a honeypot to ban people at a later date.
And what do you know yesterday they banned pretty much everyone using it on MM and it will prpb be patched out of the game again like in GO.
