omg help where is this 30gb from I need the space bad

so i just re-installed cs-2 for like the 3rd or fourth time,

so that I could again click beta > cs:go legacy

just to play the map insertion with bots again a bit cos I liked that map (which is apparently the only *workshop* map that still works even with bots)

after I installed the game (to d drive, ssd) and updated to legacy, I noticed that my Main/Os/C drive was like, 30gb less space.

After playing a couple games with the bots, I've already uninstalled the game again now,

the d drive space cleared up, which is where I installed,

but my c drive remains at some 50gb free, where before I installed it was at like 88gb free,


this is really bad as I really need the space and was already trying to free up space as it is

I found a folder of global offensive but it was on the d drive and it was only 5gb...

What gives..

Please halp.. I need space badly..

where the heck did 30gb get added to my c drive from.. I literally did nothing else in this span of time, I was in the process of clearing space and it was sitting at roughly 90gb free which is still not enough free space in my opinion but I did install the game to play with the bots on legacy cs:go for a bit but had I known my c drive would take a 30gb hit even after uninstalling the game from a drive other than the c drive and deleting the global offensive folder it still sits at 51gb free, this is really bad I really badly need all the space I can free up right now.

seriously this is messed up

I already did a search for global in this pc and it didn't turn up anything

already cleared temp folder before someone suggests that and there was nothing in it since I clear it frequently

This is so unfair to lose 30gb of space and it's coming from.... ?? no where apparently??

I am desperate here

I was already desperate for space and clearing space taken up by gameplay videos by editing & uploading them so they can be deleted from drives and now this happens

This just makes no sense and is incredibly frustrating

And like I said nothing else changed in this time span, didn't install any other games or download anything else or anything, this is ****ed, man. WTF

It has to be related to this as far as I can tell because C drive iterally said 88gb free before I installed cs2 to D drive and selected legacy beta of cs:go and then it said 51gb free on C drive.
What sense does that make. I already uninstalled, d drive space cleared up, and I deleted global offensive folder (from d drive) and did a search for global on entire pc, what the actual **** man

totally in the dark as to what you are referring to. never heard of such a thing and why would it be on c drive when i installed the game to d drive and where is it or how or what do I do now or where do I look, didn't forget something I never knew about..

Probably something to do with Windows or Google chrome. My C drive gets filled up for no reason as well. I advise you to get like a 2 tb drive and just have windows on it.

CS2 and CS:GO legacy are both around 30-35GB each.
Just look up a disk space analyzer app like TreeSize which can tell you how much space some folders take up.

This morning it's magically back at 91 gb free

Seems like Windows Explorer just takes its time sometimes when accurately displaying free space and sometimes it almost gives me a hernia

Anyway.. Thank God..

I was wigging out.. Tight enough on space as it is.

And I have a terabyte which my OS is on not to mention several other drives of at least the same size. And I use CCleaner and regularly delete temp folder.

Yeah I realized that it must have been that they both take up about 30-35 like you said, but it didn't make a lot of sense that one went on the C drive when I installed it on D,

I was just wigging out that it still displayed it that way after uninstalling and deleting.

Anyway. Thank God lol smh *sigh of relief* *thread closed*
