fps_max not working.

I don't know if its only me, but I can't cap fps in cs2, neither fps_max or rivatuner are working.

The problem might be only mine, but I've tried a re-installation and it didn't work...
any other ideas?

Does the command not work or is fps litterally not going higher?

Otherwise its with the game or a external software.

The command is not working, and the fps is not going higher or lower...
I am trying to cap the fps at a lower frame rate since my laptop is old, but it does not really matter what value I choose, the frame rate is still the same.

So, you shouldn't cap your fps.. it will not improve any performance. Mine still works using +fps_max in launch options

just type fps in csgo console in game and you have all four.

or if your laptop is NVIDIA you can just use NVIDIA profile or profile inspector found on GitHub to limit fps (if your laptop is that old.)

You typed "-allow_third_party_software" in the launch option to use rivatuner? If you are using an old laptop to play CS2, you shouldn't lock the fps anyway...

capping fps to a lower frame rate will improve the performance, leaving it on a higher value will cause drops and stutters in older hardware, I would rather play it consistently on a lower frame rate than on a high frame rate with drops every minute or so

I did not actually use "-allow_third_party_software" before, this sounds like the solution, but will it have any effects on the trust factor?

really? I don't know actually it could be that they removed them, but this is supposed to be essential for pro players, I just haven't heard anyone talk about it...

In that case the fps_max command DOES work its not removed. (i just tried it) it is working You may want to try adding "+fps_max 123" without quotations to your launch options (obv change the fps number to whatever you want) If it still dosent work you'll want to either reinstall the game or verify integrity of files.
