Why is case value dropping right now?

Because the game is losing players due to Valve's incompetency. They removed CSGO, a fine working game and replaced with this rushed unfinished product and slapped some sub tick system that doesn't even work properly.

Not to mention there are cheaters now more than ever, due to VAC still being a joke and slowly becoming an laughing stock of anti cheats.

People wanted a good working game, and we didn't get that with CS2, we got something that shouldn't have been released for another few months or even a year if need be.

However, even though CS2 is at a bad state, don't sell your skins since Valve is fixing the game and will be doing it for next few months.

Speculation. Values plummeted when CS2 was announced because people were worried skins wouldn't migrate, then rebounded. Now they're plummeting because CS2 has launched with several issues, some game-breaking, with almost zero communication in typical Valve fashion.
Don't panic sell, because Valve isn't going to let one of their golden gooses die of blight... They wouldn't put it to TF2-tier treatment after spending so long working on this. If anything, if you're patient you should consider buying up some cases to sell later. Though what do I know, I sold 250 breakout cases at six cents each

Its called supply and demand.

When the cases were super rare and there was no way to get more, they get more expensive.

Since all cases can be a random drop, that increases the supply, reducing demand.

Why do you think all these millionaires/billionaires reduce how many units they make creating a artificial scarcity. So they can get the prices up there. Nvidia for example did a good job with that. But really apple has been doing it since steve jobs was running the company. I guess at this point, who cares about consumer rights or anything like that.

The only thing that matters is making money.

People are panic selling. Good time to buy skins to be honest. The game is only going to get better. Give valve another 6 months and everyone will be back.
