Arms Race - What is going on?

Hi everyone, I just returned to CS2 because Arms Race was back. I used to be pretty good at Arms Race in CSGO and be among the top 3, but now all of the sudden I am terrible at it and russians are dominating me every round.
Is there some thing I am missing, a secret trick to playing CS2 or what?

In CSGO the regular players in Arms race were noobs mainly or people who didn't care about winning. In CS2 it's more regular players that are playing so it's more sweaty.
