How to do the giveaway?

Is such a thing allowed in the community? What is the best way to do the giveaway fairly and to keep the community happy and following the rules? I am thinking of giving away a VERY nice skin but I have these questions first.

Apparently all you have to do is make sure your inventory is private so no one can see what you have then you make a thread titled something like "knife giveaway" then you just sit back while half wits give you awards in a feeding frenzy of greed hoping to get something for nothing. Giveaways are okay as long as they are legit.

A perfect example of how NOT to do a giveaway would be to promise to give away something and extending it for another month, and then pick your alt accounts (if you have any) as winners
