"Promotion match - win" but it isn't?

Was playing, top fragging, and the game told me at second half that the game would be a promotion match if I won.

I won, and it gave me the bare minimum amount of points to NOT be a promotion match, and said next game would be one instead.

Is this why no one could figure out how ranked work in CS:GO? Because it literally just lies to you and just does whatever it wants? What is this bs? It was literally wrong with no indication of why.

Same for me... I had around 9800 ELO i won but i didnt ranked up but the game told me before the match if i win i will get a promotion. I have now 9999 and writes the same "Next match is a promotion match" This game man is a ? :D

Looking back on it, I think it's supposed to mean that winning that game means your next game will be a promotion? As in it'll bring you up to x999 ELO?

It's really ambiguously worded, though. They should change it to be more clear.

You are misreading it. Yes indeed. The promotion only happens every 5000 points. If it says Promotion match it simply means that if you win, the next one will put you up to a promotion match. Before that they gave the amount of points you will get but I guess it was confusing people whey they were only getting let's say 50 points if they won but could lose several hundred.

So it was confusing before... And now it's even more confusing?? I think they should revert it to what they had before, or maybe change the wording. It is not clear at all.
