FIX CS 2 FREEZING (CRASHING)

as the titles says, i hope valve fix this game, i can't play a casual match for 5-10 mins (because it freezes and i need to restart pc,

Try fps max 0 for crushing.
As for freezing it is because of new update.

this sounds like problem with PC. if you're on win10 or win11, then you don't have to restart pc if 1 program freezes, i believe this was already fixed in win 8.
on win 7 if 1 program froze, then it often froze entire PC, but on win10 it no longer happens.

check in your event viewer, most likely you have driver or hardware issue.
also press "numlock". if numlock can be turned on/off, then your PC is not frozen and you just have to kill cs2 process.
note that ALT+F4 is disabled in CS2 to prevent rage quitting, but you can still kill the process using process explorer or task manager.

you can also get "voice attack" and make a hotkey to "kill process". or just say "kill game now" and it will close game.

but if numlock cannot be turned on/off, then its your PC problem, not game.

i use win 11, task manager not killing CS2, but i figured out that if i close Steam , cs2 exits after 5-10seconds, num lock works fine, my specs are 16gb ram, i3 7100, gtx 1660 super, i already updated gpu drivers, but game still freezes. ( Game Freezes, but if i alt tab i get into a black screen, but PC is working fine, only task bar shows up. this never happene in CSGO.

also this game is so heavy, 60-80 fps( on casual match without smoke spam) 35-50 fps on deathmatch)

Your hardware is too old. Firstly buy new processor to get 150+ fps.

I think I managed to find a solution. At least I was able to play 6 hours straight without having this Freeze problem that forces you to kill the CS2 process through the task manager (or sign out as many others are doing). My PC scpes are: CPU: Intel i5-6400, GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660 Super (Factory OC – this is important – read below), 16GB RAM and SSD disk. No matter what I was trying the only solution was to use the -vulkan option but in that case I had around 15 – 20% less fps AVG. So I used the MSI afterburner and under-clocked my GPU to 1780Mhz (I will try to increase it tomorrow as this was big reduction and see how it goes) and also undervolted to 975mV (default was 1050mV). With these settings I managed to play 6 hours straight without having a single problem and the performance was the same as before underclocking and undervolting (as you see my CPU is very weak so even my GPU runs slower I have the same AVG Fps which is around 120 – I play 2540x1440 resolution and low). I still believe this is a game bug as my card is Factory OC. But I suggest you try something similar if you are also facing problem with a GPU which is not factory OC. Its completely safe. After all your GPU will run in lower temperatures which is a good thing.

vulkan is unplayable for me, sad that cs2 was released with poor optimization and lot of bugs, game keeps freezing

I have very old hardware but i still have 150+ fps .
i5 7400 +16gb ram + 6gb 1060gtx most graphic options are on ultra i dont think that freezing connect to hardware because there was no problem before the latest update for me
