AMD Driver Questions

Hey guys! Ive been hearing there is a issue with AMD drivers and CS2 that will cause you to get banned, I am not a tech savvy person so i dont know if i am using the settings that will get you banned or not but its made me very worried to play today as i dont want to get falsely banned and lose everything i have on CS, if the issue has been fixed or if there is a way to check or if Im just being dumb and its fine, id like to know, i remember updating my drivers not too long ago but i dont know if Anti Lag for AMD was turned on during that so im a little scared to play today, anyway, thank you all for your time, hope to hear back soon!

It only affects to newest RX 7000 Series, so if u dont have that dont worry otherwise if u have RX 7000 any model do not use Antilag+, on 23.10.1 Driver antilag+ feature causes vac ban, only the antilag+ version, antilag works properly but i recommend to you to deactivate antilag on any version until the problem is fixed in order to play the game.

AMD also reverted their latest driver and removed their X release post
And yeah everything seems to point to AntiLag+ being the only issue here as:

this applies for other games too like Apex
Someone said they got banned there on preview driver using FSR3 and AntiLag+ (but it was AntiLag+ only most likely)

Is there any way we will be unbanned? Steam support says "support can not lift the ban" and words like that. So we are all buying new GPUs like 7800xt, we are all buying games for more than 10 years and this is what we get for it? So sad it hasnt been discovered before.

The vac FAQ literally tells you support can't remove your ban. Support has no ability to remove bans or provide more information about them.

You have already been told, many times, false bans are automatically removed at a later date. All you can do is wait.

Steam support can not do ANYTHING about a vac ban.

The worst thing is that our accounts will forever be marked on all kinds of Steam profile and VAC tracking websites. Some games or servers might use that to block you from playing.
For example there are SourceMod plugins to ban anyone who joins with VAC on their profile

Permanent unrecoverable damage here
Even if the actual VAC ban is reverted

I used such plugin myself to deal with VAC collectors who cheat and spam in games to collect VAC bans (there are leaderboards websites)

Your account will be fine. Those plugins use steams API to get ban information. If the ban is removed, it won't appear in the API calls either.

If Nvidia has reflex i want AMD anti-lag+ to be whitelisted in some way if this needs to be implemented differently as result to avoid issue that is fine, if NVIDIA can enjoy reflex without vac bans then AMD anti-lag+ should be as well.

At this point tho i recommend not playing counter-strike 2 with anti-lag+ or avoid game for now if you do not trust it, they will fix it, anti-lag+ will hopefully make a return and AMD will change the way it gets released or used in a way that does not cause issues with anti-cheat hopefully, if possible by whitelisting it which is not the case right now as of 13-10-2023

Valve has come out and stated that if you have a vac ban due to the anti lag+ problem that they will reverse the vac ban.
