Also the skill difference between MG and Silver isn't really that big.
https://csgostats.gg/match/128756955
Not that much difference in ranks. And you guys played tuscan. Sadly not a lot of people play that map thus the rank difference is higher.
Exactly.
so you admit this ranking system doesn't work? no wonder every1 is so damn toxic in this game, when every1 have matches like that.
but hey, keep lying: "be nice to your teammates and you're have a higher chance of winnig the match" (s1 hast a a realistic chance against mg! -LULZ -
"The cheaters have ruined that game" you think that will happen with cs2 too?
My other acc was MG2 before I stopped playing it. When I came back, I lost 4 matches in the row... when I finally won, I was GN1.....
We have 18 ranks in CSGO's MM system. By history CS skill was always separated between Low til high skilled. Generally said: Low, mid and high skill. This means three skill groups. We can now also discuss that low-mid and mid-high are also skillgroups. So we have 5. This is how people searched for matches in IRC #quakenet for over 15 years and it worked well.
The reason valve decided to add so many ranks is marketing and psychologie: The more rank exists the more rank changes people experience. This hits the reward system of the brain of the player. Also casual player are not able to measure their skill based on reviewing their gameplay so they need specific feedback in form of a rank.
People between silver til MG are low skilled. Between MG up to global are mid skiled. Very few people between MG til global are also high skilled, but not many. Those tend to play on more serious platforms like esl, esea, cevo, faceit, 99damage etc.
So when someone tells you that the skill difference between a silver up to a MG isn't much then this is simply the truth.
2. Part:
Yes. Beeing nice is important. Communication and a positive mindset are the two most important skillsets any player need to have. If you're a silver player and your enemies are much better in terms of raw skill you can balance that easily by communicating well, playing for info etc.
Cheater also didn't ruin the game. Yes. There are few too many. Roughly 2% of the playerbase is cheating. But that's not that much of an issue. And in CS2 it will probably be better. We get new anti cheat systems (active AI and vaclive).
Also this is a typical negative mindset of newer CS player and I don't understand it, honestly. You have to see where I come from. I play CS since 1999 very competitively. And play football in a club since 1993. And all people I know directly and indirectly LOVE playing against better player. This is what national cups are so famous. For example in the DFB cup (german cup) bundesliga teams like bayern play against teams from the 6. league and NO team ever said "oh no we don't want to play against bayern", they ENJOY it. Same goes for me. I grew up playing in the federal state selection and we always playing against professional teams 2+ years older than us. Why? Because this is how you learn the most. Humans need pressure to grow. Not always, but from time to time.
So when you play against higher ranked player stop ranting about it. Learn from that experience. If you think otherwise then competitive CS isn't the right game for you.
