No more money for "suicide" - why?
So, in a recent update they added the rule that if you die by your own hand you don't get any money for the round. Why did they do this? It's totally insane.
Earlier on Mirage I threw a nade in the first round (so no kevlar), I missed my aim and it bounced back and killed me. Yes, total noob mistake, I get that and I'm not proud of it.
We lose the round and I have 0 (ZERO) money. I think the game even gave me a money penalty for "team-killing" (though I only killed myself), but I'm not sure, because I had 0 money anyway after buying a pistol and 2 nades.
So yeah, as if dying by stupidity isn't bad enough, why do I now get punished by not getting a single dollar for the round? This is absolutely stupid and doesn't make any sense. Accidents do happen, no reason to totally screw over the economy of the game thanks to that...

well, you don't get money for the "kill", but now if you kill yourself you don't get ANY money at the end of the round (the win or lose reward).
did you ever get money for round end if you killed yourself?

People (includigng me) were abusing bind kill command, so enemy don't get money from kill.

I think it's a positive change.

You can very intentionally do it.

They did it because it was a common strat for save rounds. If you had to save, your team would kill themselves, and boom, next round, still got money. Since that was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that's why they took it out

I am still confused by your aruguement here is from the update

- In official competitive mode players now accumulate end of round money even if they are disconnected at the moment when end of round money is awarded to their teammates.

- In official competitive mode players who disconnect from the game server while alive are treated as having committed suicide and don't receive end of round money for that round.

seems like a good rule to me.

Just another reason to play a lot of casual before jumping into competitive. I don't see it as an issue.
