suddenly high-ping

Since yesterday I've been having extremely high pings on CS:GO... around 130. I just ran a ping-test on pingtest.net while playing CS:GO with a 130 ping and it gave me a ping of 46, so it's obviously not my internet provider (I have 100mbit connection).
What causes this? How can I fix this?

Set your max ping for competitive in game settings, also try playing without any applications running, web browser, torrent, etc. I dunno what else, hope it helps.

When i played i had 5 ping and now for some reason i have 122 ping pls i need help , ping is good for my friends but my ping is now terrible and i cant play

I have the exact same problem and its not my internet, it began after Vanguard patch.

I got random 40% loss while playing in competitive in the most critical moment and I always die because it freezes the damn game because of 40% loss and also my fps dropped from 300 to 100-120 max 150. It began as soon as Vanguard patch was released. FIX THE DAMN GAME VALVE

Yeah,for some reason my ping ingame at the leaderboard gives me like 15-70 ,and at cl_netgraph my ping is nearly 400 to 1k ping. :<

I hate people that ruin my game because they cant get theirshit together. Fix your internet or stay away from competitive.

I have also overnight gone from 15 ping to ~100 making the game unplayable. I killed all apllications tried everything, no downloads going and still can't get my ping down, i have been playing with 15-30 ping on this game since i got it and now suddenly its unplayable :(

I was just playing one competitive then suddenly my ping reaches from 60 to 897. Then my screen froze and I waited 15 mins and no response. I checked before I played that no applications are running. My internet speed and ping check is 20mbps and 10 ms. What just happened?

I got no ping issue (116.202.224.146 IND sv ip-Avg ping 34, no ping spike) but in game al of sudden every 5-7min i get ping spike 1000 ping -.- valve plz fix

So, I have a suggestion. This worked perfectly for me and I dropped to 30 ping from frikin 350.

1) Go to Steam and then go to settings.
2) Go to 'In-Game'
3)There should be an option called In-Game server browser: Max pings / Minute
4) If it's set to 1000+, lower it.
