Is this game voice chat friendly?
Hello, new player here. I've heard plenty of horror stories about how toxic and unfriendly the community of this game is, especially towards new players. Currently I only have about 4 hours of gameplay, and I've had voice chat turned off for the entirety of the game because I feel like people will just harass me for not being good at the game. Can anyone give me any kind of advice on if it would be beneficial in any way to try using voice chat? Obviously it makes communication easier but I'm just unsure on how well my input will be received to other players.

I'm also bad at the game of life so this is also an issue

Nope! Very toxic. If you choose to talk be prepared to throw back whatever they throw at you. If you're not white doubly so. Lots of hate.

Don't be annoying, talk when spoken to. Don't talk too much unless giving info, when you know where someone is. Only give info, when you actually know, not "I think maybe..." etc. because that is just distracting. There is a mute button. Use it frequently, if you detect signs of severe retardation among teammates.

Communication is crucial for this game. You can only win as team and the worst thing is when you don't talk it's much worse for your mates and the whole gameplay.

Yes all the horror stories are true but the good thing is. There are also a lot of friendly people out there and you will meet a lot of nice people if you give it a chance.

Say hello to your team. Give good Callouts for your mates.

This kind of mentality is the exact reason why toxicity is still a problem.

Listen I can handle being insulted in a voice chat, buy if it’s all that’s going to happen in a game regardless of what I do then I won’t even bother using said voice features. I’m just asking what is the best way to interact with the community (and you guys have been very helpful btw thank you)

No, it's just use a 0.00001% of ur brain...
It's internet man... theres no way to handle what other ppl are gonna do.

Thats a reasonable question.
And... yep, theres a way to enjoy this game:
1_ U will inevitably have to play with random ppl at first. Yes, ur going to find many toxic guys, but just dont put energy on them. Also ur going to find cool guys, what to do??
JUST ADD them as friends, add as many cool player u find, dont be shy, u need to be social in this game if u want to play with cool guys.
2_ Once u got many friends, just forget about random ppl, and only play with a full team.

If ur planing to play csgo/cs2 alone, u'll to have a bad time... csgo with friends is just other game...

Or people could just stop projecting their own insecurities onto others? You can still make a point without telling someone their mum needs to get a terminal illness, or using racial slurs.

There is no aspect of this toxicity which is acceptable in the real world. If someone said "I hope your mum gets cancer" to someone in a real world scenario, what do you think is going to happen? The person being toxic is going to feel some consequences, whether it be physical confrontation, public humiliation or ejected from the venue it took place.

But on the internet they get a free pass 'because it's the internet'. That is such a backward way of thinking that it makes me want to regress into an Ape form.

Yes this community is very toxic. But that doesn't happen all the time. You have to communicate and give callouts it's necessary for the game. And you can also have nice talks about everything in some matches. Give it a try. Start with "Hello team!" And if someone is toxic report them for griefing and abusive voice com and mute them.

Good answer thanks.

Just dont speak too much, dont be annoying and dont rage or yell to your mic. Overall, voice chat isnt that toxic people in voice chat are nicer than people in text chat

Also dont press mic in moments where you need to be quiet and hear the enemy footsteps
