1920x1200 Res. 24" Monitor
Long time CS player here. I'm a bit baffled with the resolution issues I am having.

I have a pretty solid system. 100% custom built.

Specs:
Quad core i7
MSI GTX 670 Power Edition & OC Edition
650w Cosair Gold PSU
Solid state drive.. 1TB HD
Cooler Master GT V6 CPU Cooler
XLG CM Custom Case

24" Monitor - Native 1920x1200 16:10

My issue: I cannot play CS:GO efficiently on any other resolution without receiving some type of jittery graphics every 2-3 seconds when moving. For some reason, it seems I do not receive any type of notable FPS boost even at lower resolutions or with low settings. This GPU has always done best when challenged with high settings and resolutions, and doesn't offer massive gains by lowering graphics or resolution.

Does anything come to mind as to why I receive this negative jittery crap when I drop the resolution. The only other resolution I can use is 1920x1080 if I use a VGA cable and not HDMI as the black bars disappear when I use a HDMI.

Your thoughts?

I don't know if something is fishy with my config, refresh rate.. I really have no idea. Any help would be great.

It might be your config. Have you tried swapping cables out like HDMI or DVI or VGA?

Yes I have tried swapping out VGA to HDMI now. I was using VGA before. The same stuff happens when I lower res. The only difference is on the VGA I was about to play x1080 with black bars smoothly.

I'm using a n0thing config, but I have used others and seem no diffence.

Doesn't n0thing use a different resolution like 9:6 or whatever? I'm pretty sure he does. Either way, get rid of his config and use the defaults in CS:GO and test the HDMI cable with the 1920x1200 16:10 resolution and I bet it works just fine.

The 1920x1200 resolution works great, no issues. My problem is when I try to use a lower resolution i run into jittery issues.

My bad. Read your post wrong. Not sure what to tell you mate. :(
Sooo do you mean it kinda freezes up for a few milliseconds every 2 or 3 seconds?

Yes, very similar to what you are saying. Almost like miny lag. No FPS drop though. It happens even when I'm at a constant 200.

At the level I play at its unbearable and not playable. I seriously have to stick to 1920x1200 until I figure this out.

Yeah I get the same problem when I changed my resolution. I would walk around and every few seconds I would notice the graphics kinda glitch/lock up. Super fast but it's frustrating as hell. It took me forever to figure out that's what it was. I ended up using nVidia's Experience tool and hit the optimize button and I never went back to another res - it selected native as most optimal.

Maybe it's a problem with the nVidia?

There has to be another solution. Native is suppose to be most optimal, but shouldn't force you to use it if you want a lower res.
I hear you. I haven't tried another resolution ever since I ran the optimizer. Could be another setting that causes that to happen (anti-aliasing, vsync, etc). Maybe I'll try another res here in a bit and see if it's fixed now and then I'll report my video settings.

Solution:

Open Nvidia Control Panel > Adjust Desktop Size and Position > Perform Scaling ON > GPU

Mine was set to monitor.

All resolutions work fine now.
Well played! Thanks! I'm sure this will help others.
