What is the meaning of mix?

Hey guys. Can anyone explain for me what is the meaning of "mix"?
Is that competitive in other words? Or...

mix means a mixed up team.
When 5 players play together but barely know each other.

Like matchmaking. If you join it alone or with a friend, the team itself is a mix. It would NOT be a mix if you and 4 friends build a party and join it. Depending of how nice you work together this can make a huge difference. You can perform tactics and can make calls.
In a mix every1 plays mostly for himself. This leads to more chaos. But if the aim is good enough it can lead to win aswell.
