Hello Mate!

You can buy the pass anytime, but you gotta make your picks before the major starts, otherwise it wont count and you can not upgrade it in the challengers stage. Obviously it wouldnt be fair for other players and everyone would do it "if my guesses are wrong i just dont buy" for example. so yea its not working that way.

sadly this is not true
i activated my pass just now and i made my predictions yesterday and it automatically failed the first two challanges for me because i didn't activate the pass before the tournament started....

Did this just now as well because Google only showed me the first response and am upset I wasted 9,49€ now ngl. I wish I had actually clicked this thread fml.

TRUE, i just experience it, don't activate pass after open/elimination stage if you aiming for souvenirs token, it's just a waste of money. But if you want to collect Major Coins it's fine. I wasted my 10$ and it could've been a gold coin, really disappointed in the pickem system
