they said that since 2008. Never happened. Their delayed ban is what made people hate this game, but now its what make people leave. Some don't ever get banned too, which is ridiculous.
it will be pointless without personal ID anyways .. because a cheater can just return on a new account within a few seconds after he got banned !
But with Personal ID a Cheater or Cheat-developer cannot return to the game again, like in NEVER before Valve lift the ban again !

Well then Personal ID is a part of just that !
maybe they can connect it to vaccination status too what do you think
they could just send someone else ID like family member or friend. But yeah they would most likely not cheat on their own personal ID.
Why do you derailing ? .. what does vaccination status anything to do with Steam ?
They could connect it to the Vac-Status, so if a cheater got Vac on his/her account, they wont be able to play against players that dont have Vac on their accounts !
Because if you have cheated in 1 game and got a vacban for it, then the chances that you cheat in another game aswell is huge !
It will be a pain for players that allready got a vac on their account .. But Valve could lift all the Vacbans, behavior status, before demanding personal ID to the Steam accounts !
So Steam would be restricted to only 2 accounts for private players and for internet cafe´s it will be 1 uniq account with sub accounts added to it, Internet cafe´s will be forced to protect their systems, so that their users cannot download anything to their machines or connect any hardware to it ! Otherwice the owner of the internet cafe will be banned to be able to run games through Steam !
This should have been done 20+ years ago, then we would not have this issue with cheaters in our games !
I think Valve is thinking about how to detect and ban hardware cheats that is streamed from a thirdparty source !
But that is easy enough, like i have said 1000s of times -> The Act of doing & Game statistic´s from all the players in the match = able to detect even the smallest aimbot/recoil hack, because if the mouse did not move, then something ells moved, so what Valve would need is the game client to read the movement of the mouse and the clicks on it, then movements, Damage in/out, hit registrations, armor, health, stuff like that the anticheat solution would need to keep an eye on, otherwice people will try find a solution to abuse it to their advantage against other players !
