How To: Sticker Placement
Q: What are stickers?

A: Stickers are an accessory to your gun. Stickers are used to be decorative, show your love, passion or hate for a team, used to just show how you feel about guns, or even just because you like the way it looks on the gun.

Q: How can I place my stickers?

A: Stickers can be placed on 4 areas on the surface of the playside of a gun. These four spots will usually be revealing to the player, allowing you to actuallly see the sticker placement on the gun. Sometimes the stickers will be placed oddly on the handle of the gun, usually being on pistols such as the Glock or P2000 or USP-S. Keep in mind, stickers can also cover up parts of a gun's skin that is the key part or feature of that weapon.

Q: What do you mean by Key Part of a skin or gun?

A: By key part, I mean a part of the skin that is the main feature. Some examples include the M4A4 | Griffin, MP9 | Rose, Glock | Water Elemental etc, etc, etc. It is possible to cover up these main features of a gun, making the gun look odder than it is. It's like if Leonardo Da Vinci had an oppertunity to sign the Mona Lisa, and then he put his signature on her face, the key feature of the painting.

Q: Well where should I place my stickers?

A: You should place your stickers AROUND the key feature of a skin. The sticker should not be covering up the key part of the gun, especially no major details of the gun. The only acceptions to this are the abstract skins in the game, having there be no key feature to the skin.

Q: Abstract Skins?

A: An abstract skin is a skin that has no key feature of a gun. Some include those such as the M4A4 | Asiimov, AK-47 | Vulcan, AWP | Pit Viper or even such as the P90 | Module. Notice that all of these skins have no main focus point on these skins, as you can admire all of these skins from all points and not just one key point. The colors of the gun just make it marvelous, and admirable. Stickers on these skins can be placed anywhere, and should complement the look and colors of the skin.

Q: Complement the colors / looks?

A: By this, I mean that the colors of the sticker should match the color of the skin and vice versa. For example, blue on blue, red on red or even yellow on yellow. Some great examples of the placement of stickers on skins are 4 Cloud9 | Cologne 2014 all placed on an AK-47 | Vulcan or 4 London Conspiracy | Cologne 2014 on a Famas | Pulse. There are obvious acceptions to sticker bombing skins that don't match the overall color or look.

Q: What are some of the "sticker bombing" acceptions?

A: By this, I mean that you can just slap any sticker on a skin and It will look good or even better than it was. Some sticker bombing skins where any sticker can just be slapped on there are the Vanilla skins, AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel, AK-47 | Jet Set, and on really great example of a skin that you can just bomb is the P90 | Death By Kitty. Notice that all of these guns have too many details in their skins, multiple colors that it doesn't really match one sticker or It's just plain and simpley a bleek, lifeless color.

Q: What stickers do you recommend I use to "bomb" skins

A: The only stickers I would really recommend to bomb these with are the stickers that aren't the team stickers. These stickers are in the Community collecions, holiday collections, and community capsules that have silly characters, phrases or looks. As long as you're happy with the sticker, the sticker should look good on the "sticker bombable" skin.

Q: What are some examples of bad sticker placement?

A: Some include putting community stickers on abstract skins, mismatching colors such as brown on yellow, or red on green. One that really gets to me is putting a mismatched color sticker on the "key piece" of a "Main feature" gun.

Thank you for reading my How To! Please bump up so people know how to place stickers on guns CORRECTLY.

Thanks for the guide. I got a p90 module and put on a Chi Bomb sticker. Even though it's a community sticker I think it looks good :happymeat:

Might be a stupid question but can I change the sticker positions after the fact?
eg. I am looking to buy some souvenir Hiko skins, and on one of them, the sticker is where it would be hidden while using the gun, if I buy the gun, do i have the option to change the position of the sticker to a more visually appealing spot?

No. They are permanently in the spot, unless you remove them completely.
