CSGO Confliction with keyboard function keys and custom keyboard settings.

i played csgo today after i set up some functions for the keyboard for my music player, and when i paused the music i suddenly dropped my gun even though my drop gun button is G and i pressed the down arrow key, maybe these keys are supposed to override the others but its annoying, i also noticed when i pressed fn+f1 which for my keyboard was supposed to mute my computer, i started walking sideways. just looked like the game was trying to understand what key i was pressing even though it didnt matter and it would just be wrong. i have a list of what everything i type thinks im doing:

Mute = D key
Volume up = B
Volume down = C
Pause = G

And i dont want to have to redo the keyboard controls so i dont drop my weapon when i need to turn my music off, you should add custom keyboard support.

Try restoring to defaults? Or type unbind all in console and manually bind everything?

I'm getting the same thing. My keyboard has built in music player functions. If I use any of the functions it will sometimes cause me to be stuck in place. The S and D keys simple rotate myself 360 degrees in one place. I can jump but not move forward. It acts like I'm using the regular arrow keys. Have you found a quick fix in case this happens in game?

for now if i want to mute my computer or turn sound down, i just put the steam overlay up with shift tab and that usually doesnt affect the game, but its still quite slow, i havnt found a way around it apart from this, so hopefully there might be an update sometime in the future.

I have the same problem! Got the Razer Blackwidow..

i found out if you go to settings and bind a function to something new like jumping, and you press FN + F1 (mute volume) is says D. So CS:GO see's that combination as the letter D...

Did you solve this problem?

Nope, I just did what Meeyt suggested and only use the functions when in Steam Overlay.

Do you have by any change also a razer keyboard? Or do all keyboards have this problem?

We should somehow reach to Valve to fix this somehow..

I just have a cheap $20 keyboard from Amazon that has the extra function keys for music players and all that.

it is a problem of synapse.. multimedia keys programmed by a software will allways cause that issue (same with logitech and other binding software). what you need are native-multimedia keys that work without a software. to get this with a razer keyboard you will have to uninstall synapse, that is the only solution unfortunately.. maybe razer will fix this some day (just jokin, its razer :D)

My solution was just to not use synapse new synapse is not supporting bind macros to volume keys with razer blackwidow
