Play with friends (unranked and higher ranked)

I have a friend who is ranked Master Guardian 2. I just started playing csgo and am now Silver Elite Master. Will he be able to play with me? If not: what is the max gap between friends?

As an Silver Elite Master, am i able to play with an unranked friend?

Its really frustrating... we were almost thinking of quittig again because it wil take weeks to catch up to him.

Well, I've seen a S1 and Nova master on enemy team before.

I am also Sliver elite master and could not play with a friend of mine and he was master guiardian. you can only play with a skill group that is classes one higher then the lowest player.

I'm in the same boat, i'm SEM and have a couple of guardian friends and i can't team up with them. Volvo haven't told what the acceptable gap is. I hate this "feature".

The only way you can team up with any rank is if you have a full 5man party, so start making friends...

Thats crazy. Why would valve do somethng like that? It is killing the fun for us. We were motivated to switch from cod to csgo, and now we are stuck "leveling". Why not allow it, and just get us the opponents from the highest ranked player?!

1. You can also play with friends from the same group and max 1 rank difference, or
2. With friends from max one group difference? (means we could play as soon as i am gold nova 1

Global Elite can play together with Silver 1 if they are in a full premade team.

If your for example playing 3 dmg 1 silver 4 1 global elite you can play, you have to be 5 players

Okay so basically to sum it up for u,u can only play with players higher or lower than u by 5 ranks however the only way u can play with other people who are 6 ranks above u is to create a full team to queue together for example..u have a friend who is mg1 and ur silver 2,clearly he is 5 ranks above u but since u really want to play with him,the only way is to find 3 other players to queue together with the both of u so u get a full 5man team(the players ranks dosent matter,as long as its 5man queueing up together)

Its because CS:GO doesn't want you playin with players not your skill group. It either will be too easy, or too hard. Ive played with AK'S and im nova 3, I sucked. I played one more game solo, with my skill group, and I had the most points again.

The only other way to play with higher ranks is if their rank isnt too far away from yours; or if you play with a party of 5.

Basically, matchmaking will try to find someone queued with a silver with around the same elo, so it's a fair match. If you're able to, have a friend that lives near you and a silver that lives near you, queue together and the odds of finding a game increase. If this doesn't help, add me and I'll help you get out of silver so you can be in nova and the odds are way better.

Play with a full queue and it isn't a problem.
