I would search the market place for nice looking skins under $20, purchase them and enjoy. Don't open cases. 9.5/10 you get garbage...and an empty wallet

i don't think too many skins look like crap, so i go with unboxing crates. i'm usually okay with what i get, even if it's a blue.

if i had 20 bucks i'd probably just use them on crates dropped to me over time, which is what i probably should have done with my last ones. recently i bought the three expensive crates (esports 2013, bravo, and arms deal 1). got a stattrak famas doomkitty, black limba berettas and usp dark water. doomkitty isn't that great a skin but at least it's stattrak.

Within the 10 I've gotten and opened, I've gotten more Purples than Blues, aswell as 2 pinks and 2 reds. :)

I'd buy a ton of the cheapest pink/purple skins and use them in trade up contracts to see what id get

I would pretty much do the same thing, in fact, I have many of the guns quoted but I didn't had to pay for them, csgo did. Buy as many "decent" looking skins as possible for guns you will use often is pretty much the best option IMO compared to buying only 1 good looking skin. And buying keys/opening cases is clearly out of the question.
