I'm a silver 3 with some pretty good aim and can't rank up w proof
Before you try and help me read everything I'm about to write, hopefully there is someone who had a similar situation like me and got out of silver. So i have played for a while and i have not been able to rank up from Silver 3 i like to play with my Elite master and gold nova friends who accept me in their matches whenever they are online and about 70% of time i top frag or 2nd frag those matches, we dont usually go on huge winning streaks (our biggest was 4) and i have good game sens of most maps especially overpass( know all T smokes) I know crosshair placements as well as common spots. When i play with randoms its pretty frusturating i have had some really bad experiences most of the random servers i join the players are obnoxious and don't offer anything good. I'm always trying to do my best but when im in a random match its hard, muting most of the people that have nothing to offer usually does help me focus on trying to win and not listen to them, and i can usually carry the team to a victory and if the 4 others are completely terrible its usually a close loss. But sometimes i get into some bad games as well where i actually am the one playing like crap im sure it happens to all. I have some really good aim anyways and most of my nova friends dont even know what fragshack is and how amazing it is to practice on as well as meet some cool players. I usually go posititive on both Pistol and regular servers rarely do i go negative, i don't go for the K/D but it just happens i have a very good one(for a freaking silver 3) have a look at one i just completed before making this post http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=378279664

Really do enjoy the servers and its one place i can enjoy myself other than playing competitive with my SEM/Nova friends because randoms servers could lead you to becoming insane. So i'd love to hear your input and ways i could get out of silver

tbh i only read the title and look at the ss, but that score is really not that impressive, all you can do is keep practising, or you can do the easy thing and lobby with a 5 man premade

..... if you cant rank its your own skill. Dont blame others even if you top frag. majority of players got out of silver by themself without anyone else. its not the games fault youre silver, its yours.

the biggest mistake people make is jumping into comp, it means there starting rank is usally silver and they can get stuck there, knowing the game beforehand means you usally get placed between nova and mg, so unless you want to make an alt account your just gonna have to put up with going through silver, if you are at the eagle level then getting out of silver will be no trouble

How many matches have you played and how many wins do you have? You have slightly more hours than I do on my other account which I am Silver Elite on (feel free to add that if you want to game with me) and I bounce between Silver 4 and Silver elite on there. I have about 171 wins on there (I can't remember right now), but I have probably played about 400 matches or more on there.

The ELO System is weird on where or how it ranks you up so to speak. I was Silver 4, won 6 matches in a row with nothing, then lost one, nothing change. I then had a match that ended in a tie where I finally ranked up to Silver Elite, but I was the worst player in that match. They system isn't really broken as much as skewed against people in Silver ranking up.

As to what you can do to rank up, I would suggest get a 5 man team with Novas or high Silver players and just keep doing what you have been. If you win against "better" players, that counts more points towards your personal ELO. If you win against equal or lesser players, then the system won't give you as many points. Unfortunately, Valve won't tell anyone how it really works so no one really knows. They probably have good reasons for not saying how it works though. People would abuse the crap out of it if they knew how to.

It doesn't matter what you wrote tho. The ranking system is pretty good, I've seen a lot of people who complained about their silver rank and when I added them and watched a few rounds... terrible, terrible mistakes.

If you want to have a higher rank then you need to earn it by playing better, it's really that simple.

Surely there is always some randomness in terms of what teammates you get, but at the most this will affect your skillgroup by 1 rank, not by more. You need to keep in mind enemies have that randomness too, and some of the games you win are won because there is an idiot on the enemy team.

tl;dr focus on your mistakes, play better -> rank up

My mistakes for now are joining random servers with insane 5 year olds, which i can't really fix because i want to play competitive and friends i lobby with can't always be online. I have flaws but these are not typical silver flaws.

It's not about other people, it's about you. You won't become a good player unless you accept that.
He's more or less right about that. I'm silver 3 on this account and I only solo with this account. On my "main" account, I am silver elite, but I play with friends. People say you should be able to solo your way to what ever rank you truly belong in. For a long time I thought they were wrong, but the more I play, the more I understand that while a good team will help you rank up faster (and may get you where you don't belong) the other team is probably in the same boat you are with random people and possibly bad players.

Dear mr Og, that score of yours you posted is as good as your rank. I usually do 100/20 on deathmatch at my rank or even better. So I don't think you are as good as you believe to be.

The skill gap between high silvers and golds is veeery little. You can see it through a microscope.

If you want to have fun and play a good match and also learn cs, never play random competitive matches.. find at least 3 more players to play with.

Doing your best is never enough since cs is a team game.

You should watch some tutorials on youtube about the game, I recommend WarOwl playlist since you can learn almost all of it about the game (crosshair placement, sesivity, spots, aiming, bursting etc.)

You should practice a lot more (practice is not equal to playing!!!)
When you will be able to:
1. On deathmatch have 2x kills then deaths
2. Top3 fragger on public servers
3. Win 99% :) of 1v1
4. Hitting more then 40% of your shots HS

Then I promise you will get to at least Master Guardian.

The key to ranking up, Assemble a good team, and utilize team work.
i use to be silver 1 for the longest time! i had amazing aim. i started to rank up when i played with other hight skilled players. So just find a good team.
