I played against people up to DMG because I did good.
The system does make mistakes though.
We had an unranked player on our team when it was all GN4 and upwards a while back.
He was so happy to get 1 kill.
He ended the match on 3 kills for how ever many deaths.
Shame.
If you keep doing good, it will give you higher ranked opponents, until you might end up against people that completely destroy you.
My first game was against a bunch of silvers, and I did extremely good compared to them, so I virtually kept ranking up until I ended up against MG I, MG II and DMG ranked people.
I hear you but in this instance, the guy literally had 10 hrs and it was his first ever comp game.
He played like a total noob as well.
I really felt bad for him.
He even commented and said that it was enough to make him not want to play mm again.
The system doesn't have mercy for new players.
After losing against those players, he should virtually rank down again and get easier opponents.
Competitive is really not a good place to start off, even though many people do it, because it seems to be the main thing of the game. Especially in a competitive shooter like CS it's a bad idea.
