Is the sawed-off really that bad?

Everyone keeps telling me that the sawed off sucks, but I kind of like it. It is the cheapest 1hit kill against armor, and you do not have to headshot. So could anyone tell me why they hate the gun so much?

You may like that one shot kill but if you miss, you're dead. The Nova and the Mag has a faster shot rate/

Its range is atrocious. It only really works on tight maps where you will only ever encounter and enemy 6 feet from you. IMO you would be better off using the XM as a shotgun and a nova as an eco/anti-eco weapon as they have greater range and do more damage in the end. Also I think the spread is quite bad compared to all the other shotguns, but dont hold me on that one

I don't use it too much because i think it's range is ridicolously poor. And the fact that even at close range where it's devastating, the other shotguns work just as fine most of the time.

The only maps where i use the Sawed-off is Italy, Inferno (sometimes) and Office, as these maps do have close quarter combat areas where it can come in handy.

But generally, i go for the Nova or Mag-7 instead if i wanna use a shotgun.

The sawed-off is an awp in a sense that you have to kill the target on the first shot. If not, then you are dead.

I dislike the nova because I find it hard and very luck-based to get headshots with it, and if you are playing against a player that knows how to aim, you won't have time to pull of another shot. IMO it's easier to move up close and blast them with the sawed-off than hitting them twice with the nova. And the XM is a little too pricy I find.

It can be devastating at b-site inferno, I once clutched with it there.

It's very OP tbh, alot more damage and great spread close-quarters.

It's very powerful, but very situational. Most of the time the Nova is a better choice, but it depends on what map you are on/where you are in a map.

All shotguns are great eco since kill reward is 900$. The UMP has only a 2x kill reward. Then I would never buy the sawed off on dust 2 Because of its long range areas, but on a map like nuke it works fine

Also they have great damage, spread could be handy sometimes for multiple kills also very cheap.

The Sawed Off is fantastic in my opinion. If you know a gun to the point where you can get a few kills with it, it's at least average. And for those who say it has terrible accuracy, it's sort of a pinnacle with shotguns, is it not?
