Can hackers corrupt replays?
Because I 100% suspects someone of wall hacking a couple games ago, and conveniently it is the only game I can't download and watch. Our entire team reported him, especially after the numerous headshot wall bangs with the scout/awp throughout the game. In places no normal person would spray a round through the wall.

VAC destroys the evidence after the VAC ban is issued.... I think... but replays aren't their anymore when a hacker is found in one of the games...

Close out of CSGO and verify the integrity of your cache. That'll fix it about 98% of the time.

Managed to get it to work, watched the whole game, hacks confirmed. Last kill of the game he takes the time to aim through the wall right where my head is. My buddy is uploading the clip to his YouTube now. lol 131 games, 514 hours in cs:go and he is wall hacking.

@ Varien how can I send it to Overwatch or Any Valve mod to make sure they ban his account and all his stuff?

Aight, He plays his hack really smart, so I don't know if Overwatch would catch it, tries not to look right at people, but he always knows where you are, I even tested it by hiding in a far off corner and he sent a teammate right to me after looking right at me through the walls. He only had 3-4 super obvious moments where he blows somebody away through a wall or smoke while they were walking. So no way he could have heard them.

Lol, he got banned. He traded away 111 of his 135 items before they got him though. So lesson might not hit him as hard.

I've seen people with 100+ games and 5+ year old account get caught for hacking. Cheaters are idiots so it doesn't surprise me when they do something that doesn't make sense to the rest of us.

I doubt it most replays are saved game data from the information uploaded and shared during a gameplay that is housed on the server, hacks alter packets sent by the user which means that the replay which is reading things server side not client side shouldn't be effected like that.

Of course I have no idea how the CS:GO replay system works so I could be wrong. Starcraft for instance is client to client entirely so in that game it is feasibly possible to cause a replay to act funny.

Regardless I doubt anything would completely corrupt a replay in either fashion it would just look weird. There was an aimbot in 1.6 that was quickly patched but the way the coding worked made the person look upside down to other players spectating the hacker.

The "can't watch or download match" is a csgo bug that takes a couple hours to resolve itself. No cheater can "hack" OW and stop your replay from working, just give it time to be uploaded and dl.

I'm sorry, but I'm here with the same doubt. I've just played a match where two guys were griefing (teamkilling, walking backwards and giving enemy team on frags, etc.) and then one of them had some crazy shots and stats at some point.. then they left, red competitive timeout shows and bots join, and after a couple of rounds I START A ROUND BY TEAMKILLING MYSELF WITH MY OWN AK47 WITH A HEADSHOT. Checked console, it said that one of the guys who left had killed me, and then some strange message saying:
"Telling Steam not to update the app for the next 900 seconds"
Tried a screenshot, but the file saved shows desktop instead of CS:GO... anyways.
I cannot download nor play ANY .dem files. Not even the ones already recorded and downloaded. I suspect this is to avoid overwatch, but I don't know if it is possible.
Go ahead and Watch the demo if you can download it: steam://rungame/730/76561202255233023/+csgo_download_match%20CSGO-zpQh2-6uQpP-5ctMn-2ETrc-FPGCF
