How to get Factory new item out of trade up?
Hi, I'm trying to do a trade up contract on CS go and spend as little money as possible to get a factory new item out of it. Should I buy all factory new items to have a better chance of getting a factory new in the end or can I spend a little less money or minimal wear items or less quality?

Just buy what you want off the market.

The quality is random from a trade up, use the cheapest condition to trade up

incorrect

5 Factory new m4a1-s knights and 5 FN other items made a FN dragon lore (see phantomlord youtube for proof)

Actually i just did the tradeup with only 2 factory new weapons, the rest random, and i got the factory new version of the gun i wanted.

idiot 20% chance of fn because 2 guns were factory new so it's not random

This was helpful thank you.

The quality of the item you get depends on the items you put to trade up, for example, if you put 2 FN and 8 BS, you have 20% chance to get FN and 80% to get BS

Nope, there's a formula.
But I'm too lazy for searching for it lmao

I know this is old, but in case anyone's interested...

there's a formula. You couldn't put in 10 factory new items and get a factory new M4A4 Asiimov (for example), because the Asiimov's float range doesn't go that high. So what happens is it averages the float value for all 10 items, then gives you an item that uses that value - but scaled against the item's min/max wear range

this explains it well: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=420402033
