w key keeps getting stuck -.-

If I press the w key for a long time, like while running forward in this game it doesn't stop if I stop pressing it, my char just keeps running for some time which makes the game almost unplayable somtimes. It doesn't look or feel like it is stuck though if I press w one time my char stops moving. I have a laptop keyboard so I cant just buy a new one. Is there any way I can fix this prob by myself?

open a word process program like word or any other, and press the W just like you were running. if you stop pressing the key and the Ws keep appearing, then is your key that broke, the only cheap way to fix it is to buy a new keyboard or rebind your movement keys. if the Ws stop appearing after you let the key go, then is a game problen, maybe rebind the W, like erase the bind, and make it again with the same key

Ok it's clearly my W key that is broken. Rebinding is a great idea, thank you! I feel stupid now that i haven't come up with this solution myself lol^^. But if I want to repair the key, is there a way I can repair it myself or do I have to send my laptop in? :s

i have no clue :/ im not a pc technician lol i dont know how to repair keyboards, try your luck in google

I have a problem like this, but I have tried holding w on other programs, and it doesn't keep going...... I have no idea why this happens. It is obviously something with the game. Any tips?

I had the same problem and actually found a solution. I use laptop so I don't know if this will work for desktop keyboards. For me at least the problem seemed to be on the little "pin" in the middle of the key when you take the top off. I replaced the pin with a little piece of folded paper (fold it until it gets the same height as the pin), and problem solved. The click won't be the same, but you'll get used to it. At least you'll play in peace now.

I have searched solution for weeks for this.
Finally i have just replaced my hdd and installed new win 11. Seems ok now.
PS: i bought faster pci hdd
