I know this isn't CoD and frankly, I've never played any CoD game before ;) but still - every other shooter has some sort of a loadout system, right?
No. Only mainstream shooters have that.
Everything else you seem to understand. It's what makes CS special and much more tactical. To answer your other question, the "loadout" page is for swapping skins and several weapons out for other ones.
You can swap M4A4 / M4A1 , TEC-9 / CZ75 , 5-7 / CZ75, USP and P2000.. maybe another with the pistols but I always forget.
I know it's not a "typical" mainstream shooter, but still - this doesn't mean that it shouldn't have some intuitive UI that makes it obvious how things work here. Weird.
It's a game that has fundamentally remained the same for well over a decade, not to be a ♥♥♥♥, but they don't really need to hold hands here.
Your money is displayed in your current match.
I think you'll find it's much more enjoyable than most shooters. Without it being this way 99% of the people would be sniping or using whatever FoTM loadout they can find.
This actually forces people to think about what they buy and how they intend to use it.
Anyway, so I started an offline match with bots just to check things out and I did found the "buy" menu now (which is available for like... 10 seconds, I select a weapon type and then a weapon. Each weapon has a "cost"... but even there I don't see how much money I currently have.
So again - I don't need a comprehensive tutorial, but this just goes beyond the very basics of interface design. I mean... if there are resources to spend, just show them in the same place where they can be spent.
@BOT Aim - Yes, but... can you now buy the same type of weapon every time? And if so - how is it different from getting it before the match?
Your money is displayed in the top left right below the mini map. It's also in the buy menu in the top left.
Or, you can see it by pressing tab and looking beside your name if you die.
It's unlikely you will use the same weapon every single round unless you are going with a cheap weapon like a low priced smg or shotgun. Some weapons and grenades combined will be more expensive than half of all the money you could accumulate through the entire game.
The problem was that so far I always kept selecting different game types that were NOT in the "competitive" section - and that's why there was no money displayed anywhere. Now I played a competitive round (and sucked really badly :( ) and now it all makes sense.
In fact, now I also see the tactical aspect of it - what to equip and when, use mediocre gear until your team falls back and then get something better, always go for the best, try to master a cheap weapon etc. All makes sense now :)
So thanks everyone for the help.
PS. No, I'm not a troll, I actually just wasn't familiar with this game. I know, it's hard to imagine ;)
In Lowranks you will often see Players buy every round, which isnt the way to go. :)
And if you Play competitive dont Forget to buy Kevlar, newbies tend to not about it xD
